Lindsey Parsons, composer

misslynn@gmail.com

Lindsey Parsons is a violist composer currently pursuing her Masters in Music Performance at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, studying with Scott Rawls.  In her spare time she composes, among other things, and studies with Mark Engebretson at UNCG.  She received her undergraduate degree at DePauw University, also in performance, where she studied viola with Allison Edberg and composition with Carlos Carrillo.  She has participated in master classes with Augusta Read Thomas, and also occasionally writes music for film.  Lindsey's music is largely acoustic in design, and is dedicated to creating idiomatic writing for whatever instrument happens to be in the orchestration, perhaps largely due to her strong background as a performer.  As for soundscapes, she is largely interested in contrasting dissonances with consonances, in an attempt to create a unique sound.  And she would love to write music for you.  Please contact her if you wish to see sheet music for any of her completed music, or to own any recordings she might have.
